It has now been 10 years since the journey that started them all. In September of 1994 I decided that I finally needed to travel overseas. It had been 5 years since graduating from college and starting at Microsoft. I know was entitled to 3 weeks vacation. I got a brochure from Cosmos Tours and decided to take one of their marathon Europe tours the very next month! The tour went through England, Paris, Lucerne & Lugano Switzerland and head to toe in Italy: Venice, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Pompei & Capri. **Because I was a Jamaican citizen at the time, France was me a real hassle about being able to travel through. I guess they feel they already have too many West Indians and they were afraid I was going to try to stay. So therefore when the tour left for Paris, I stayed in London 2 more days and then met them in Lucerne. ** Anyhow on Monday October 3rd 1994, I boarded a plane from SeaTac Airport in Seattle & headed to Heathrow in London. |
