In March of 2000 I took Richard Montagna's Iditarod Tour. Ever since reading
Jack London's The Call of the Wild, racing in a dog sled across the frozen Alaska
wilderness has been a dream of mine. Racing in the Iditarod is the ultimate test of that dream.

Since I wasn't quite ready to launch into it on my first race. I decided to take Rich's tour
just to get the feel of it all. After finally having watched
hundreds of dogs get loaded off of trucks and seeing mushers taking off into the horizon,
all I can say is WOW! Hopefully one day I will be one of the few the proud to make it
to Nome on a dogsled. However, for 2001 maybe I will just watch the start in Anchorage &
Wasilla and then take some motorized transportation to Nome.

Either way, enjoy these pictures. The site is so so far from being complete.
I shot over 30 rolls during the race and have only scanned in a few dozen. My goal is to
have information for every picture including the tech details of the shot as well as indentifying
any mushers. However, being honest I may never get to it all so I decided to just throw some
pictures up and slowly over time get to the rest. (if ever) Please let me know about broken links
& answers to any missing info you may have

My cameras are a Nikon N70 with a Quantarray 20 - 80 lens and a 100 - 300 lens.
And a Yashica 35mm zoom camera. For a few shots I borrowed a "fisheye" lens from one of my travelers.
