The eleventh day was spent touring some great spots of Jaipur.
Amber Fort / Palace
Riding an elephant up to the Amber Fort was yet another great highlight. Recently I found out that Steven Spielberg wanted to film a scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom here. However, the Indian government put them through so much red tape that they skipped it and filmed Indy riding up to a large matte painting.
Misc.
We passed the Palace of the Winds on the way to Jantar Mantar. We also stopped at a local restauant.
Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar was the royal observatory of Jai Singh built in the early 1700s. His passion for astronomy was amazing.. There are sundials and other instruments for observing the stars. It was extremely impressive.
City Palace of Jaipur
I couldn't take pictures inside. Here are some exterior shots.
Miscellaneous Jaipur
We stopped at a rug store on the way back to the hotel. Then some waiters at the Trident Hotel. They were very nice and helpful.
