"Go to Angkor My Friend, to it's ruins to it's dreams." - P. Jennerat de Beerski, 1924
On June 27th - July 5th, I went on the trip of a lifetime. For years I have dreamed of seeing the great temple Angkor Wat and the ones surrounding it. Somehow I had forgotten that these were all in the country of Cambodia. But in mid-May the travel bug started to hit my at a feverish intensity. I only had a week off of work and the flying time to make it all the way to Siem Reap, Cambodia was over 18 hours EACH WAY. It would require a night layover in both directions. Therefore there would be a day and a half of flying each way. That's ridiculous for a week trip right? Long story short I booked the tickets.
I would leave on Wednesday at noon, get into Bangkok at Thursday 11:30 PM Bangkok time. Stay at a hotel and take the hour flight from Bangkok to Siem Reap in the morning, getting in at noon. I would leave Siem Reap Monday afternoon and spend 24 hours in Phnom Penh. Then I would fly from Phnom Penh to Bangkok and spend the day there. Then I would begin the trip back home, while also having a seven hour layover in Seoul, South Korea. Contained below are just some of the pictures from the 32 rolls of film I shot. Enjoy!!
