On Saturday May 11th, 2002, I married Mary Ellen Pugh, a native of North Hollywood California. We were married at the Woodland Hills Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. It sounds cliche, but it really was a perfect day for a wedding. The sky was clear, the air was warm.
We started in the morning with our pictures at the Westlake Village Inn in Westlake Village. The garden setting was perfect for wedding pictures. We stayed in one of their suites after the wedding. It was wonderful to be joined by friends and family. My parents, sisters and cousins all flew out from NJ. Mary Ellen's extensive family from California all were there.
Then we made our way to the Kingdom Hall where Rick Lombardo, an elder from Mary Ellen's congregation gave our wedding sermon and offciated our vows. With friends and family watching, we promised to love and cherish each other forever.
We then rode in a limo to the Knollwood Country Club of Granada Hills for the reception with 250 (!) of our closest friends. (We highly recommend the Knollwood for your reception, great food, great price and wonderful open, well lighted ballroom.) We danced, ate and had a wonderful time. Less than forty-eight hours later, we were off to Kuaui for our honeymoon.
We had an outstanding photographer, Alex Washington. I highly recommend him. While he took pictures using medium film, his assistant had a high-end digital camera and he took a couiple more hundred pictures of the whole day... four CDs worth. I am not sure when Mary Ellen and I will get around to putting together our wedding album, but at least here I am putting a few pictures online for all to see.
